Málaga will present at ITB its new cultural offer to strengthen the German market.

This is how the city of Malaga comes this year to the International Tourism Exchange (ITB), which takes place in Berlin between March 8 and 12 and where it will present the new cultural and tourist resources and will commit to consolidate its presence in the catalogs of the great tour operators of Germany. The councilman of Tourism, Julio Andrade, was yesterday convinced that this complete cultural offer will serve to strengthen the growth of the German market and recalled that Malaga has placed culture and museums at the center of a new stage of its development.

“The city now has a reference museum offer and has become, after Madrid and Barcelona, ​​the third city in the country as far as cultural offer is concerned,” Andrade said.

The German market is the fourth largest international issuer, after the United Kingdom, Italy and France. Last year, a total of 53,764 German tourists stayed at Malaga hotels, 4.32% more than in 2015. These travelers registered 116,565 overnight stays. However, the mayor said that the German market has grown by 59.6% in the last six years. In addition, he showed his confidence that during this year the pace of growth will continue.

On the other hand, he pointed out that Germany is going through a good time and, in fact, the German government itself expects a significant rebound in the economy. The city of Malaga, he said, “has to take advantage of this circumstance and work hard so that German tourists keep betting on our destination for the ideal place for their vacations.”

In addition, the Tourism Area will take advantage of its presence at this important fair to continue opening business opportunities in long distance destinations.
